创可贴适合创伤较为表浅，伤口整齐干净、出血不多而又不需要缝合的小伤口使用。一般来说，如果仅是轻微的表皮撺伤，大可不必使用创可贴。只须乙醇（指酒精）涂抹一下就可以了。这样就能起到防止感染的目的。切忌不可随便伤口就用紫药水涂抹。

一般人可能认为一个创可贴可以贴个好几天，但情况是贴的时间不能过长，不可超过24小时。创可贴要经常换。同时，应抓紧时间去就近的医院进行正规的消毒处理，以免引起不必要的感染。
